Kutsher's Tribeca

186 Franklin St.
212-431-0606

Boasting more than 100 years of history, Kutsher’s Country Club in the Catkskill Mountains became famous in the 20th century for hosting American greats like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Jackie Mason, Jerry Seinfeld and the Righteous Brothers at its famed Stardust Room Night Club. In November of 2011, fourth-generation Zach Kutsher, together with restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, drew on the cool, communal vibe his family has been cultivating for decades when he opened his upscale delicatessen and bistro in Tribeca at 186 Franklin Street

Consistent with its 100-year history as one of the great Catskill resorts, Kutsher’s promotes community, tradition and cultural identity for the next generation through a playful approach to the canon of American Jewish cooking from small bites to more substantial offerings. The menu, designed by Chef Thomas Higuchi-Crowell, offers contemporary takes on classic Jewish cuisine. Guests can find juicy Friday Night Chicken, Pastrami Reuben Eggrolls, Duck Schnitzel and (of course) Mrs. K’s matzo-ball soup. Sides include beloved favorites like duck-schmaltz fries and crisp potato latkes; desserts also appeal to nostalgia, with options like rainbow cookie ice cream cake and old school New York cheese cake. Kutsher’s received two stars from New York Magazine and the NY Post, three stars from Time Out NY and was a critic’s pick in the New York Times and has been written about in publications ranging from Travel and Leisure to The Wall Street Journal to Wallpaper Magazine to The New Yorker.
