Whether you’ve visited New York City before or you’re thinking of planning your first trip to the Big Apple, the thought of living here -- at least for a while -- may have crossed your mind. It may be a playful musing or an actual dream, but if someone offered the opportunity of a cheap, gorgeous luxury apartment in the West Village it might become something more akin to a plan, right? If paying $700 per month for an apartment that has a retail sticker of $7000 per month right here in Manhattan sounds like a good deal, then you’ll want to read on.

Daffy’s, New York City’s number-one discount clothier, is kicking-off a contest where their incredible discounts on clothes will be extrapolated into real estate for one lucky winner. Daffy’s will hold auditions for consumers, who must submit a 30-second video at Daffy’s store locations about why he or she deserves to win “The Daffy’s Apartment.”  Today, Thursday, July 23rd, at 3P head on over to 462 Broadway (between Grand & Broome Streets) where consumers will have the chance to meet Katrina Bowden, star of NBC’s 30 Rock, as she demonstrates how the video entries work at the kick-off event and meets and greets fans. The entry period will last through August 14th, at which point five finalists will be chosen by Daffy’s and their videos will be voted on by the public at Daffys.com from September 7 through September 16.  The winner will be announced by October 1st, which is when they are expected to move in to the luxury apartment. So while you’re in the Big Apple be sure to submit a video and hopefully you’ll be a local by this fall! Consumers can go to Daffys.com to find out when and where to enter.

During the contest period, Daffy's will also open a temporary pop-up store on the ground level of The Daffy's Apartment building.  Check out pictures of the apartment, located at One Seventh Avenue South here.
