From scoping out the windows on Saks Fifth Avenue during the Christmas season to catching a round of fireworks on the Hudson on the Fourth of July, you won't miss a thing.

The 91st Annual Feast of San Gennaro - Little Italy
Through September 24, 2017 - New York

The beloved Feast of San Gennaro, which is celebrating its 91st anniversary this year, is an annual festival presented by Figli di San Gennaro (Children of San Gennaro), a not-for-profit community organization dedicated to keeping the spirit and faith of the early Italian immigrants alive. The Feast is New York City's largest and longest running festivals, and attracts more than one-million people from around the world each year, to take part in the religious processions, colorful parades, free musical entertainment, and a wide variety of authentic Italian cuisine. The first Feast in New York City took place on September 19, 1926 when newly arrived immigrants from Naples settled in what is now Little Italy in New York City, and decided to continue the tradition they had followed in Italy to celebrate the day in 305 A.D. when Saint Gennaro was martyred for the faith. Since then, the Feast has grown from a one-day street festival to a gala 11-day event. Chazz Palminteri will be this year's Grand Marshal, and Tony Danza will be this year's MC for the Meatball Contest. TOGN was started to promote local businesses and introduce residents of NYC to the wonderful array of food that Gramercy has to offer. As in previous years, net proceeds from this event will go to benefit healthy meal programs at local public schools, including PS 40 and School of the Future. WWI History Weekend - Governors Island

Join the World War I Centennial Committee for New York City for WWI History Weekend. This two-day event is free and open to the public as we honor the centennial of U.S. entry into World War One in 1917. Come see dozens of reenactors in vintage uniforms, both men and women, and learn the history of the Great War. There will be vintage Army vehicles, ambulances, equipment displays, a tent encampment, author talks, and demonstrations. Meet General John J. Pershing and the Ebony Doughboys reenactors who represent the famous Harlem Hellfighters regiment. Events are held in conjunction with the National Park Service in Castle Williams and the Parade Ground. Talks and lectures inside Pershing Hall. The event is open to all ages, kids and families welcome.

Blauvelt Sons of Italy Festival - Masonic Park

This 8th annual celebration of all things Italian features a wide selection of Italian food, live music and dancing, as well as traditional fair fare, carnival games and midway rides for all ages, from kiddie rides to thrill rides. Italian specialties will include a variety of pasta dishes, brick-oven pizza made on site, sausage and peppers, seafood, barbecue favorites, and sweets and treats such as zeppole, cannoli, sfogliatelle, Italian ices and ice cream. More than 50 vendors will be offering jewelry, home goods, artwork, freshly hand-rolled cigars and clothing including Italian culture-themed items. Festival admission is $5 and free for children ages 11 and younger. Unlimited ride wristbands are available for $25 on Thursday and $30 on Sunday.
