Now in its eighth year, Mad. Sq. Eats heats up the Flatiron District with a "culinary pop-up market" featuring close to 30 of New York's coolest specialty food vendors. With a little something for carnivores, vegans, and even kids, Mad. Sq. Eats is the destination to grab some grub and enjoy the spring weather, with ample outdoor seating and a bevy of brightly colored umbrellas to shade you from the sun. Then, hop across the street for a stroll in Madison Square Park to work off that lobster roll, gelato...or both. Mad. Sq. Eats is now open through May 28.
What We're Ordering
The always popular Brooklyn pizza afficionados from Roberta's Pizza once again cart their mobile oven to bring their popular pies to the people of New York. With hot, bubbling cheese, savory sauce, and creative toppings, Roberta's has cornered the market on the Mad. Sq. Eats pizza scene.
Takumi Taco is all about mixing it up with their fusion of Japanese and Mexican cuisines. The result? A Spicy Tuna Taco (pictured) worth waiting in line for. Their signature dish blends sashimi grade tuna with jicama, avocado, cucumber, and spicy mayo, in a bite-sized shell, so you can crunch on more than one of these. Trust us, you'll be addicted.

With ice pop flavors like Nectarine Orange Blossom and Rhubarb Chamomile, and shave ice concoctions like Lemon Basil and Sour Cherry, People's Pops doles out frozen treats using ingredients from local markets, so you never know what fresh ideas they'll have to keep you cool at Mad. Sq. Eats.
Prepare to chow down and check out these and all of the other great vendors popping up at Mad. Sq. Eats this spring. Won't make it to Flatiron this May? Don't fret! Mad. Sq. Eats returns this fall from September 4-October 1.
