Serious about showing visitors to New York City a good time, spectacular views and access to the Big Apple’s favorite sights and attractions, New York Water Taxi (NYWT) is rolling off the river and taking it to the streets. Beginning May 9, the 10-year-old award-winning waterborne transportation company will add a free shuttle bus, the NYWT Express – Your Ride to the River, to their popular-all day Hop-On/Hop-Off Pass, making it even simpler and more exciting to see more of New York City. This free double-decker ride with a guide will connect NYWT’s Hop-On/Hop-Off guests from the NYWT stop at Pier 84, West 44th Street to popular shopping, restaurants, entertainment and attractions including the Empire State Building, NBC Experience Store, Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Center, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Madame Tussaud’s, Discovery Times Square, Broadway and more throughout Manhattan.

“Already the preferred way to see New York City, NYWT’s Hop-On/Hop-Off Pass offers guests spectacular views of quintessential New York City landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Governors Island, waterfront parks, the spectacular New York City skyline and more,” according to Helena Durst, president, New York Water Taxi.

“The addition of the NYWT Express bus, will bring our Hop-On/Hop-Off guests deeper into the neighborhoods and closer to the front doors of the attractions, sights, sounds and flavors that make up the fabric of the City and will enhance an already great experience,” she continued.

NYWT’s Hop-On/Hop-Off Pass gives guests the opportunity to get on and off the Water Taxis wherever and whenever they like at regularly scheduled stops near the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Times Square/Broadway, Hudson River Park, the West Village, National Museum of the American Indian, Financial District/Wall Street, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, South Street Seaport, Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO. Hop-On/Hop-Off guests can also opt to add a visitors pass to the National September 11 Memorial to their tickets departing from Pier 84, West 44th Street at no additional charge.

“Basically, if there’s something to see or do in NYC, we go there,” Durst added.

The newest attraction in the heart of the City -- NYWT’s Times Square Landing -- a brand new visitor center, also opens on May 9. Located at 4 Times Square, on Broadway between 42nd & 43rd Streets, visitors to NYWT’s Landing can create free custom digital postcards commemorating their Big Apple visit at the Landing’s brand new interactive Water-Taxi-Gram station, get sightseeing information, and purchase tickets for New York Water Taxi and Circle Line Downtown. The Water-Taxi-Gram will be open 24-hours a day. Creating a postcard is as simple as pressing a button to snap a picture and entering an email address for the digital postcard to be instantly delivered to.

Also on deck at New York Water Taxi is the Great Hop Adventure, an interactive map program that offers Hop-On/Hop-Off guests discounts on entertainment, theater, neighborhood restaurants, shops and exciting suggested itineraries to help guests use Hop-On/Hop-Off service to enjoy more of the City. Great Hop Adventure Maps are available on all New York Water Taxi vessels beginning May 9.

With convenient stops at Pier 84,West 44th Street (Midtown West), Pier 45, Christopher Street (West Village); Battery Park, Slip 6 (Downtown, Financial District); Pier 17, South Street Seaport (Financial District); and Fulton Ferry Landing, DUMBO (Brooklyn), New York Water Taxi’s Hop-On/Hop-Off service is the best way to enjoy all that New York City has to offer. Year-round service runs daily, between 9:00am and 6:15pm. Tickets: adults: $26.00, children (3-12 years) $16.00, include free rides aboard the NYWT Express bus. A continuous loop throughout Manhattan, the NYWT Express bus stops at Pier 84, West 44th Street, Fifth Avenue between East 33rd and 34th Streets, West 48th Street at Broadway, and 42nd Street near Broadway daily between 9:30am through 6:00pm.
