Onda Restaurant Hosts 'Taste of Peru' on May 1st

On May 1st, in collaboration with BarSol Pisco, Onda Restaurant is hosting Taste of Peru, a celebration of music, food, art, and cocktails of the South American country.

Chef Raymond Mohan will be preparing a special Peruvian menu and Pisco cocktails will be showcased all night long (with a special selection of half-price drinks from 5 to 9) as DJ Mark Flynn spins energizing Latin beats. The artwork of Braddy Romero will also be on display.

The a la carte menu includes appetizers like chupe with Peruvian corn and seafood chowder with mussels, clams and crab meat and crispy octopus with olive aioli & corn nuts. Larger plates include the crispy whole fish with cilantro, sweet and sour garlic lime sauce and lomo saltado with beef stir fry with fries served over haucatay rice & sweet plantain.

For two weeks starting that evening, ONDA will also feature Peruvian artist, Braddy's artwork in the restaurant. Born and raised in Cusco, Peru, Braddy brings to his paintings the rich, sun-lit colors of the Andes. Indigenous symbols mix with mementos of personal history make Braddy's work wholly unique. Like a great Peruvian meal, the flavors of life combine in unimaginable ways to provide a fully satisfying feast for the senses. Braddy has exhibited in several venues in the US including New York, Washington, California and Maine in addition to several museums in Peru.

Onda Restaurant is located at 229 Front St. (Peck Slip-Beekman St.). For more information, call 212-513-0770 or visit www.ondanyc.com.
