The Glenlivet Presents 'City Links':
A Golf Course, ClubHouse and Tasting Event Tour!
The Glenlivet is thrilled to again be bringing together the two most cherished exports of Scottish heritage — Scotch whisky and golf — to ten U.S. cities this year. City Links is a 9-hole golf course and clubhouse touring the country from September 2007 to June 2008. This year, the impressive indoor course will be complemented by an all-new chipping area where guests can test their short game and a new-and-improved driving simulator.
In addition to hosting a truly unique golf experience, each city will have its own series of tasting events and cocktail parties where Society members and their guests can sample the entire The Glenlivet range.
Visit your local City Links event to enter to win a trip for two to Scotland to play golf with Ryder Cup team captain, Sam Torrance, sponsored by VisitScotland. You can also enter to win a trip for two to The Glenlivet Cup Invitational Championship next spring at Pinehurst, voted Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Golf Resort 2007.”
The Glenlivet brings to New York a traditional Scottish links housed in Midtown Manhattan. The urban-scaled course features nine holes sloped with water hazards, bridges, sand traps, and a virtual driving range and chipping area for golfers to improve their games.
Free to play and open 11 am to 2:30 pm, April 1-4 and 8-11.
In a marriage of Scotland's two best loved exports, Scotch Whisky and golf, The Glenlivet brings to New York a traditional Scottish links housed in Midtown Manhattan. The urban-scaled course features nine holes sloped with water hazards, bridges, sand traps, and a virtual driving range and chipping area for golfers to improve their games. In addition to practicing their swing, golfers will have the chance to win two extraordinary trips to the courses in Pinehurst, North Carolina and St. Andrews, Scotland. The Glenlivet City Links will host the public for two weeks before continuing on to other cities across the United States. The course is free to play, and will be open from 11 am to 2:30 pm daily from April 1-4 and 8-11.
The Couse At City Links:
Cleverly conceived by world-renowned golf course designer Arne Lundmark, the City Links course was specially crafted to be assembled in city interiors, dismantled, and driven hundreds of miles to its next destination.
The landscaping of this 9-hole indoor course was inspired by the lush scenery of golf's homeland, Scotland. The streams, bridges, and roughs that are strategically yet artfully placed throughout the course make it both challenging and attractive to play.
Every golf course needs a clubhouse where its players can relax and compare scores with a drink in hand after a few holes. Architect Thomas Shöner has created the City Links Clubhouse exactly for this purpose.
The Clubhouse features a beautifully-constructed bar generously stocked with all four of The Glenlivet finishes, classic clubhouse furnishings, and historic mementos surrounding the lore of The Single Malt that Started it All.
