New York, NY - April 11th, 2008- The Arthritis Walk is a fun-filled event to raise awareness and vital dollars in the fight against arthritis. Help find a cure for the millions americans with arthritis. Women almost twice as often as men. This equals an astounding 25% of the population and that includes 300,000 children.

Join us at one of our scenic 3.1-miles with a 1-Funwalk. Afterwards you will have an opportunity to join in the festivities and write an inspirational message on the Wall of Heroes.

The best way to enjoy the Arthritis Walk is to invite others to walk with you. Anyone can participate. Walk in honor of a friend or family member with arthritis or even yourself. Recruit co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and get them to join in the fun. Form a team for the Arthritis Walk today!

Whether you choose to join a team or walk on your own, you'll be doing your part in the fight against arthritis, plus you'll have fun doing it. The fun doesn't stop once you've crossed the finish line. Be sure to stick around for the post-walk celebration, featuring entertainment food and valuable health information about arthritis and the programs and services provided by the Arthritis Foundation, New York Chapter.

The 2008 Arthritis Walk will be held at the Historic Battery Park on Sunday, April 27, 2008... and we could use your help!

Participating in the Walk is a great way to help improve the lives of the more than 43 million American adults and children with arthritis, while getting involved in your community and making new friends.

The money raised from this event will help fund innovative arthritis research, patient service and educational programs, and advocacy initiatives.   Many different volunteer opportunities are available: - Set-up/clean-up - Registration - Snack/Beverage Distribution - Route Marshal/Cheerleader - Table assignments

The walk begins at 10 am but volunteers are needed starting at 7:30 am. Individual volunteers and groups are welcome.
