La Cenerentola (Cinderella) - Metropolitan Opera
May 09, 2009 - Manhattan

Hot on the heels of her triumphant Met debut as Rosina in last season's Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Elina Garanca portrays another Rossini charmer in this bel canto Cinderella story. Lawrence Brownlee is her Prince Charming. Veteran baritone Alessandro Corbelli demonstrates his impeccable comic timing to match the gravitas of Met favorite John Relyea.

A Weekend of Special DJ's and Live Performances - Greenhouse

Friday May 8th - Music by DJ Shimon in the main room with a special live performance by Polina from Moscow. DJ Rashad Hayes in the Lounge.

Saturday May 9th - Music by SKAM Artists DJ Roctakon in the Main Room. Scram Jones in the Lounge.

Greenhouse is the first eco-friendly nightclub destination. A bi-level, 6,000-square-foot nightclub, lounge and event space built from recycled of recyclable materials. One of Greenhouse's most spectacular attributes is the transparent ceiling fixture, comprised of over 5000 individually hung crystals, which is designed to emulate a rolling landscape. Music for every age and persuasion right through to today's top club plays. Games, raffles and prizes. 100% of the donations going to support Bpeace's work. To earn FREE tickets: Raise a minimum of $450 in donations from your friends and family and you get one free ticket to the event. With the website Bpeace will help you create, you will be surprised at how quickly you can meet and even exceed that goal. Raise $900, you get two free tickets. You can also recruit your own dance "team." DanceGiving Teams include a minimum of 3 dancers who raise a minimum of $450 for each member of the team. Members of the largest team and the team that raises the most $ will receive special prizes. You can also earn a free ticket if you recruit two people who meet the $900 minimum. Tablao Flamenco - Auditorium Centro Espanol

Tablao Flamenco in Astoria, presented by American Bolero Dance Company, is a series of once-a-month, live performances of Flamenco and Spanish classical dance and music, performed by various local and international artists in a nightclub setting.

Featuring: GABRIELA GRANADOS, dancer LA MEIRA, dancer LA MAGDALENA, dancer LA CONJA, singer CRISTIAN PUIG, guitarist JOSÉ MORENO, percussionist Ballet Español de Gabriela Granados

This performance is made possible, in part, with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Queens Council on the Arts.

Her show "Songs" is a collection of songs from the last century, including selections by Jule Styne, Alan & Marilyn Bergman and Cy Coleman.

2008–2009 Perspectives - Carnegie Hall
Through May 17, 2009 - Manhattan

Daniel Barenboim's 2008–2009 Perspectives series culminates with Mr. Barenboim, Music Director and Conductor of Staatskapelle Berlin, in partnership with fellow conductor and close musical colleague Pierre Boulez, leading the orchestra in a complete cycle of Mahler's symphonies, performed in ten concerts over 12 days. The cycle also includes several sets of the composer's lieder featuring acclaimed vocal soloists. Visit website for details.
