The Best Trump Sights to See in NYC

Now that Donald Trump has officially been sworn in as America’s 45th President, it’s time to take a look back at his roots. President Trump has always called New York City home, and from his childhood home to his current gilded digs in the Trump Tower, there's plenty for a tourist to see. Read on for our picks for the best of Trump tourism in NYC.

Best of NYC Trump Tourism: Trump Tower (Midtown East)

Trump Tower

Trump Tower was a destination long before Donald Trump stepped into the office of President, and chances are that it will remain one long after. This mixed-use building is known for its lavish luxury and gold-covered décor. The building serves as a residential space, office space, and commercial space, inviting in tourists and locals daily (as part of an agreement for building here, Trump was required to set aside areas as public space). Inside you’ll find the Trump Grill, the Trump Café, and the Trump Bar, along with a handful of high-end stores (including Gucci, Tiffany’s, and The Trump Store). Oh, and did we mention that there’s a five-story high indoor waterfall? Now that’s what we call extravagance. 725 Fifth Ave., 212-832-2000, trumptowerny.com

Get your selfie with the President! New York City's Madame Tussauds in Times Square is the only place with no ropes or barriers holding you back from getting photos with your favorite (or not so favorite) celebrities. Voted as one of New York’s most unique attractions, Madame Tussauds invites you to pose with over 200 figures of internationally renowned musicians, A-list stars, sports legends, and world leaders. Donald Trump has never looked more lifelike! 234 W. 42nd St., 866-841-3505, madametussauds.com

Best of NYC Trump Tourism: Trump’s Childhood Home (Queens)

While you won’t be able to set foot into Trump’s childhood abode, its exterior is accessible to the public. This five bedroom, four and a half bathroom home was where the Trump family lived when Donald Trump was born in 1946. Since being owned by the Trumps, it has changed hands a number of times, including in a 2017 bidding war. 85-14 Midland Parkway, Jamaica, Queens, 11432

Best of NYC Trump Tourism: Mmuseumm (Chinatown)

Mmuseumm

With the arts under siege, maybe the last refuge for the humanities will be in elevator-sized spaces? New York City abounds in random spots for art, but even then the Mmuseumm stands out for eccentricity, installed in an abandoned freight elevator downtown. In 2016, the Mmuseumm hosted Donald Trump: The Message is the Medium. This exhibit showcased items that have been produced by the President over the course of his public career. Items included a cologne called “Success,” a  bottle of “Trump Vodka,” and a set of floppy discs from the “Trump Castle” computer game. If you'd like to hear all about it, dial 888-763-8839, extension 7146. 4 Cortlandt Alley, 888-763-8839, mmuseumm.com

Best of NYC Trump Tourism: Trump International Hotel & Tower (Upper West Side)

When it comes to Trump-owned businesses, there’s no shortage of luxury. The Trump International Hotel & Tower is no exception. In fact, the Trump Hotel is the only Forbes Five-Star and Five-Diamond hotel with a Five-star and Five-diamond restaurant in all of New York City. Also worth noting, there is an additional Trump Hotel located in SoHo, for those who are more apt to exploring Lower Manhattan. One Central Park W., 212-299-1000, trumphotels.com

Best of NYC Trump Tourism: 40 Wall Street (Financial District)

Also known as the Trump Building, 40 Wall Street is a 71-story skyscraper that sits in Lower Manhattan’s Financial District. While Trump originally planned to turn the upper half of the building into a residential space, costs proved to be too high, so it remains an entirely commercial space to this day. Once in the running to be the tallest building in the world, this spectacular building has a rich history. 40 Wall St., 40wallstreet.com
