Bordering the Theatre District and Times Square on the West side of Manhattan, Hell’s Kitchen has now become a name of endearment, evidenced by realtors’ failed attempts in renaming the area.  Though the blood and gore of Hell’s Kitchen is safely in the past, those infamous New York stories will always be preserved in its quirky moniker and in the pubs and bars that hold so much history.  Take a pub crawl through Hell’s Kitchen with Uncle Sam’s New York and tales from the past will spring to life in this captivating neighborhood.

Rudy’s Bar and Grill - Rudy’s Bar and Grill is truly a cornerstone of Hell’s Kitchen.  It was opened up in 1933 by the Rudy family, just after the Prohibition and still proudly displays its original wooden door with the Rudy name.  A whimsical plastic pig beckons at the doorway, promising patrons cheap beer and free hot dogs, and almost concealing the bar’s dark past.

Druid’s Bar - Formerly known as the Sunbrite, Druid’s Bar was the hangout for the infamous Westies gang of Hell’s Kitchen.  Urban legends and horror stories of murder and bloodshed haunt this Irish pub, making it the embodiment of the wilds of Hell’s Kitchen.

Playwright Celtic Pub - With their large variety of food and drink offerings and friendly atmosphere, the Playwright Celtic Pub is the perfect place to round out a pub crawl.  Hang out with other crawlers or meet some others, because this Irish pub is not only a favorite among locals but also for out-of-towners.
