Mark Millar's critically acclaimed Superman: Red Son is an alternate take on what Superman's life would have been like if his rocket ship from Krypton had crash landed in a Ukrainian collective farm, instead of on a small farm in Kansas. His given name is no longer Clark Kent, but is now a close guarded state secret! Superman is no longer described as "fighting for the American way", but is now broadcast as "the Champion of the common worker who fights a never-ending battle for Stalin, socialism, and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact."
However, the biggest change lies in Superman's new costume, which is now light grey, black, and red, featuring a hammer and sickle insignia instead of the classic "S".
