NYC's World Yacht Unveils New Cruises for Summer 2014

World Yacht, New York City’s premier destination on the Hudson River since 1984, has unveiled some special plans for the 2014 tourist season—which include the launch of two distinct new cruises: World Yacht Adventure, a buffet and dance cruise, and World Yacht Classic, a “boutique floating restaurant.”

Adventure by World Yacht, a triple-decker entertainment boat and buffet, brings a whole new approach to the dinner cruise experience. Held on their flagship, Duchess, the Adventure features two decks that are set to different tones. Adventure by World Yacht offers an exclusive small plate and a la carte beverage lounge upstairs in their revamped Duchess Lounge, while downstairs, on the Ebb and Flow deck, there is a lush buffet dinner and dance party atmosphere. Top Manhattan mixologists have developed a custom cocktail program for both decks while rotating local DJs performing nonstop music on both decks energize the crowd. The idea is for Adventure by World Yacht to cater to a new generation of dinner cruisers — but also offer something for everyone who likes a good time.

“We saw a demand for later sailing times and a more relaxed atmosphere than what we had been offering,” says Jason Hackett, Chief Marketing Officer of New York Cruise Lines, the parent company of World Yacht. “We created ‘Adventure’ to appeal to revelers who want to be out on the water but want to do it their way.”

On the other hand, World Yacht Classic is redefining the dinner cruise experience, combining the best of a classic yacht atmosphere with contemporary dining and entertainment options. Taking place on the Rendezvous, World Yacht’s intimate, luxurious dinner yacht, the cruise has fine-tuned the dinner offerings, perfected the menu and, trimmed their capacity for a mellow night on the water. World Yacht Classic offers a decadent 4-course meal made fresh in dedicated, onboard kitchens using only locally sourced ingredients, while live music sets the ambiance for the evening and enables intimate conversation at personal tables. World Yacht Classic portrays the classic style and sophistication of New York City from a refined restaurant on the river.
