New York City is the most filmed city in the world! For a chance to take a tour detailing the history and locations of your favorite television and movie characters, as well as real-life celebrities, book a trip with On Location Tours. On Location Tours creates tours that allow people to feel as though they are part of the TV show or movie, by being able to shop, eat, drink, and dance at the sites seen on both the big and small screens. There are four distinctive tours to choose from. The New York TV and Movie Tour, visits over 40 TV and movie sites, such as the restaurant used in When Harry Met Sally. The Central Park Movie Tour is a walking tour of some of the movies filmed in Central Park. Over 40 locations will be visited including those seen in Stepmom, Ghostbusters, and Home Alone II. The Sex and the City Hotspots Tour takes you to over 40 of the hotspots shown in Sex and the City, including the shops, restaurants, bars and neighborhoods the characters visited. The Sopranos Sites Tour visits over 40 sites used for filming, including the Bada Bing and the Pizzaland store, where you can sit at the actual booth where Soprano Tony sat in the restaurant where the final scene of the series was filmed.
All tours are led by tour guides, and take place on luxury coach buses. Seating on the bus is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Central Park Movie Tour is a walking tour led by tour guides. Tours run year-round, in all kinds of weather. However The Central Park Movie and TV Tour does not run from December through February. Additionally, all other tours may not run during winter months if there is inclement weather. Please phone ahead to confirm. The tour schedule and departing locations is as follows. The Central Park Movie Tour runs Saturdays at 12noon. Meet the tour guide holding the blue flag at the entrance of the N/R subway entrance on 59th Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The New York TV and Movie Tour runs daily at 11am. Meet the bus and tour guide holding the blue flag in front of Ellen's Stardust Diner, at the corner of Broadway and 51st Street. The Sex and the City Tour runs daily at 11am and 3pm.
Meet the bus and tour guide holding the blue flag in front of Pulitzer Fountain, Fifth Avenue, between 58th and 59th Streets. The Sopranos Sights Tour runs weekends at 2pm. Meet the bus and tour guide holding the blue flag on 39th St and 7th Ave. There may be additional tour times for all tours. Please call for availability. There are several quick step-off points at some of the locations during the tour. Group and private tours are available and can be customized to fit your needs.
