In yet another pioneering effort to help educate the world on the legitimacy of the video game industry and it's amazing music, Video Games Live is pleased to announce the first ever video game concert in New York City at the legendary Beacon Theatre on Broadway.  This groundbreaking landmark performance will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2008 and is being promoted by Madison Square Garden Entertainment.

The majestic Beacon Theatre is the "older sister" to Radio City Music Hall.  Designed by Chicago architect Walter Ahlschlager in the Art Deco style, the Beacon Theatre opened in 1929 as a forum for vaudeville acts, musical productions, drama, opera, and movies.  Known for its flawless acoustics, the Beacon has been a favored New York City stop for top acts since the Roaring Twenties.  Many of the greatest names in music have played the Beacon including the Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, Radiohead, and Queen.  In 1979, the historic venue was designated a national landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Video Games Live bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers and fans to the symphonic orchestral experience while also providing a completely new and unique experience for families and/or non-gamers.

The power and emotion of a symphony orchestra is mixed with the excitement and energy of a rock concert and the technology and interactivity of a video game all completely synchronized to amazing cutting edge video screen visuals, state-of-the-art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments with the audience.

Selections from the following games are expected to be included in this performance: "Mario," "Zelda," "Halo," "Final Fantasy," "Warcraft," "Sonic," "Metal Gear Solid," "Kingdom Hearts," "Chrono Cross," "Myst," "Tron," "Castlevania," "Medal of Honor," "God of War," "Bio Shock," "Civilization IV," "Tomb Raider" and many more.
