Before the big ball drop in Times Square, celebrate the end of 2011 on Broadway with an extra special 8 p.m. New Year's Eve performance of the new hit revival of GODSPELL, now playing just steps away from Times Square at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street).

 

And it's the ONLY Broadway show playing in Times Square this Saturday night!  

  

In place of the usual onstage audience celebration at intermission, this special New Year's Eve performance will include an onstage toast led by GODSPELL star Hunter Parrish and the entire cast, as they welcome in the New Year and pour sparkling cider for the entire audience!

Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nomineeChristopher Gattelli (South Pacific), GODSPELL stars an incredible and diverse company of 10 young actors, starring Hunter Parrish as Jesus and Wallace Smith as Judas, and co-starring Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Celisse Henderson, Morgan James, Telly Leung, Lindsay Mendez, George Salazarand Anna Maria Perez de Tagle.

 

This first-ever Broadway revival of GODSPELL features all the good gifts of one of the most enduring shows of all time in a brand-new, updated and one-of-a-kind production, complete with Stephen Schwartz's (Wicked, Pippin) Tony-nominated score filled with popular hits including "Day by Day," "Light of the World," "Turn Back, O Man" and many more.

 

Conceived and originally directed byJohn-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Stephen SchwartzGODSPELL originally ran for more than 2,600 performances in New York and spawned successful touring productions in major U.S. cities, a 1973 motion picture adaptation and countless international engagements for the past 40 years.

TICKETING AND PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE *

 

GODSPELL plays at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th St.). The regular weekly performance schedule is as follows:

 

     Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m.

     Wednesday matinees at 2:30 p.m.

     Thursday and Friday evenings at 8 p.m.

     Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

     Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

 

HOLIDAY EXCEPTION: There will be no performances on Sunday, January 1, 2012.
