Just in time for Sir Paul McCartney’s birthday, Madame Tussauds New York unveiled wax figures of the “Fab Four” -- George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. McCartney celebrated his 70th birthday on June 18th.
The Beatles made their U.S. debut on February 7th, 1964 when they landed at John F. Kennedy Airport to thousands of screaming fans. Two days later, 73 million people watched their performance on the New York City stage of The Ed Sullivan Show. On August 15, 1965, The Beatles opened their third US tour to a world-record crowd of 55,600 at New York’s Shea Stadium. A year later, the “Fab Four” commenced their final US tour at a show at Shea Stadium.
The interactive exhibit features George, John, Paul and Ringo in their late 1960’s-era styling and allows fans to stand in line with the Beatles to create their own personalized album cover. The new exhibit will be in town through September 5th, 2012.
