In addition to their hop on/hop off tour buses, and packages that include visiting the Statue of Liberty, United Nations, the emerging World Trade Center and majestic Freedom Tower, CitySights offers an assortment of harbor cruises that travel down the Hudson River from the West Side, up the East River, and back.
They include: a 60-minute official National Park Service Downtown Cruise, “Gateway to America,” from Pier 5, at Whitehall and South Streets, with commentary from park rangers, historians, and scientists (in addition to music and sound effects) focusing on the link New York harbors have to the first settlers to the New World right up to today; a Midtown Harbor Cruise with tour guide; and a 90-minute Twilight Cruise from Pier 78, Twelfth Avenue/Hudson River at West 38th Street, that glides past Manhattan’s skyscrapers and streets as they transform into a romantic and vibrant visual with thousands of lights illuminating the skyline.
