The New York City Police Museum's Midwinter Recess for Kids - Feb. 21-25, 2011


From Monday, Feb. 21 through Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, the New York City Police Museum (100 Old Slip at Water & South Sts., 212-480-3100; www.nycpm.org) will host their Midwinter Recess, for children ages 6-12.

The program runs from 1 to 3pm each day for $15/day (free for members). Participants will learn the skills it takes to be a Police Officer at this fun drop-off program. Each day will be a different theme, with hands-on activity about police. Every day is different; register for one day, or the entire week. Housed in the historic building that contained the 1st Precinct of the NYPD, the New York City Police Museum gives visitors an insider’s look at the history of the largest police force in the country. Exhibits include vehicles, weapons and uniforms, and an exhibit chronicling the tragic events of September 11th through testimonials and artifacts.
