Banished Children of Eve - Against the backdrop of the dangerous, sweltering Civil War summer of 1863, the Bowery explodes with racial tension and the City of New York rushes headlong toward the fatal July draft riots. Moving to the music and rhythms of these dangerous times, a diverse band of characters -- from an Irish Minstrel Troupe to Tammany Hall bosses -- are drawn together in a net of intrigue and violence.

Brothers from the Bottom - Playwright/director Jackie Alexander’s new play follows two brothers in post-Katrina New Orleans faced with an impending building project that will transform their neighborhood. The action explores all sides of the fraught gentrification issue -- a clear parallel to the Billie Holiday Theatre’s own Bedford-Stuyvesant home base, currently in the throes of a changing demographic.

Fyvush Finkel Live! - With a remarkable career, from the Yiddish and English stage to his Emmy Award-winning performance on Picket Fences, the multi-talented Fyvush Finkel takes us from the rich heyday of Second Avenue to mainstream stardom on stage and screen with laughter from beginning to end. Fyvush will be joined by his sons Ian and Eliot as well as special guests Merwin Goldsmith and June Gable.

Lumpy Bumpy Pumpkin - With comedy, compassion, plenty of pumpkins and puppets, this Halloween story will soon have everyone singing along and rooting for Lumpy Bumpy Pumpkin. Along with Lumpy Bumpy, we learn that everyone has a special talent -- you just have to find it. The energy and spirit of the storyteller and guitarist help bring Farmer Joe's pumpkin patch to life.

Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake - Matthew Bourne blends dance, humor and spectacle with extravagant, award-winning set and costume designs by Lez Brotherston and lighting design by Rick Fisher, to create a provocative and powerful Swan Lake for our times. A modern day classic, this production is best known for replacing the traditional female corps de ballet with a menacing male ensemble.

Sticks, Stones, Broken Bones - Horses ride people, ninjas fight audience members and old teddy bears get an unexpected new lease on life as Montreal street artist and puppeteer Jeff Achtem transforms bits of household junk into surreal shadow puppets before your eyes. Verbal communication takes a back seat as everything he can get his hands -- and feet -- on is used to create a joyfully detailed theatrical world like nothing you've ever seen. Sticks, Stones, Broken Bones is feast for the imagination for audiences of all ages.

ZooZoo - According to Carol Triffle and Jerry Mouawad of Portland, Oregon’s Imago Theatre, who created this gleefully kooky extravaganza of costumery, masks, acrobatics, music and lights: “In our world, frogs and penguins are not too different from humans... Without a human body on stage to gauge size or set a scale we create a wonderful space to change perception...” Thus, in the Imago universe polar bears roll about with balls, frogs confound the audience and penguins play a wild game of musical chairs. A one-of-a-kind collection of sublime and silly scenarios!
