Merce Cunningham: New Perspectives & a Living Legacy at 92nd Street Y
This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.
Fridays at Noon continues its tradition of presenting work by Cunningham. Jean Freebury reconstructs and presents duets from his 1990 dance August Pace, performed by students from Purchase College. Patricia Lent, a former Cunningham dancer and member of the Cunningham Trust, stages a MinEvent with dancers from the New World School of the Arts. Nancy Dalva, the producer of Mondays with Merce, screens an episode from the series. And a panel of former Cunningham dancers – Douglas Dunn, Neil Greenberg, Jennifer Goggans, Banu Ogan and Krista Nelson – talk about the experience of dancing with and for Merce.
Please note: Tickets are now required for all Fridays at Noon performances. You can pick up a ticket at the box office downstairs. Pay what you can or come for free – but you do need a ticket either way.
