ALBEE SQUARE FARMERS MARKET TO OPEN at Albee Square Farmers Market

The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership will be opening a farmers market at Albee Square (Corner of Fulton and Bond Streets), the grand opening is Saturday, May 4th starting at 11:00 AM. It will feature cultural performances from the BEAT Festival and a cooking demonstration by gourmet chef Tanya Tracy. The Albee Square Farmers Market will run twice a week on Thursdays from 10 am – 4 pm and Saturdays 11 am – 5 pm – through November 23. EBT tokens and WIC checks will be accepted. Up to 15 vendors will participate in the market’s first year and in late November and December 2013, the market will shift to a holiday theme offering seasonal products and crafts. Planned vendors for the first season include Dutchess County’s Migliorelli Farm, selling locally-grown produce; Tierra Farm, selling dried fruits and nuts; Fort Greene’s Le Petit Bakery, selling breads and baked goods; and Robibero Family Vineyards, selling Hudson Valley wine. Other planned vendors include Amelia’s Florist, Original Delancey Street Peanut Company, Meredith Bread, Anthis Greek Food, Yona’s Gourmet Delights, High Mountain Foods, Vesco Food, Café Mavi Express, and Provence en Boite.
