Learn what it means to be a good advocate for your childwith special needs as Nancy Schwartz, Ph.D., a specialist in Speechand Communicative Disorders, explores the definition of a speech and language impairmentunder IDEA and explains the speech/language terminology. Other topics to be covered include various typesof impairments; when assessment is appropriate; what the essential componentsof an assessment are; and other areas assessed by clinicians including auditoryprocessing, oral motor, language, and pragmatics.
