When his sons (also professional musicians) were young, the late great pianist-composer Dave Brubeck used a variety of approaches to instruct them. Among these, he disguised himself as a mustached, absent-minded alter ego by the name of Professor Nooseknocker. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis brings forth two decades of experience in presenting interactive, amusing, family-friendly shows to introduce and illuminate Brubeck's extraordinary life to young and old alike, kicking off a festival celebrating Brubeck's incomparable contributions to jazz, culture, and more.
