Who is the Monkey King? Complementing the Lincoln Center Festival production of Monkey: Journey to the West coming in July, and the CMOM Monkey King exhibit running through June, this 45-minute family program will include demonstrations and an interactive segment, that introduces the beloved ancient Chinese folk tale of the Monkey King character. This event will feature an exploration of "Face Changing," an ancient Chinese dramatic art form, as well as a performance of NYCCC students and professional dancers exhibiting a variety of regional dances such as Mongolian and Tai, and folk dances such as Fan, Ribbon, and Sword.

Venue Description: The world's leading performing arts center and home to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Film Society of Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Juilliard School, Lincoln Center Theater, the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet, New York City Opera, New York Philharmonic, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, and the School of American Ballet.
