Who is the Monkey King? Complementing the Lincoln Center Festival production of Monkey: Journey to the West coming in July, and the CMOM Monkey King exhibit running through June, this 45-minute family program will include demonstrations and an interactive segment, that introduces the beloved ancient Chinese folk tale of the Monkey King character. This event will feature an exploration of "Face Changing," an ancient Chinese dramatic art form, as well as a performance of NYCCC students and professional dancers exhibiting a variety of regional dances such as Mongolian and Tai, and folk dances such as Fan, Ribbon, and Sword.
