Bruno Monsaingeon's documentary Autumn Journey paints a striking portrait of the baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Substantial performance excerpts from recitals, oratorios, and operas complement conversations on topics ranging from the start of Fischer-Dieskau's career to his many important collaborators, conductors, and directors, to his sudden retirement in 1992. This film is accompanied by excerpts from a 1959 recital of Schubert songs with pianist Gerald Moore.
