2013 will mark nearly 25 years since the 1989 revisions of the NYC Charter that fundamentally changed NYC government. As NYC prepares to elect a new mayor, this event will examine the allocation of powers under the 1989 Charter, draw lessons from recent Charter Commissions, and discuss the role of Charter revisions for the future of NYC government. Featuring a keynote by NYC Corporation Counsel Michael A. Cardozo and panel discussions with NYC Charter Revision Commission Chairs and others who have been involved in NYC Charter revisions.
