Artists who specialize in music from the Himalayas and South Asia are invited to forge a connection between their music and the art in the galleries. Yanik Jayaram is a percussionist and lifelong performer from Austin, Texas. He holds a bachelor's degree in music from the University of California at Berkeley with a concentration in jazz drumming. Since his graduation, Yanik has had an insatiable appetite for the music of different cultures, studying under masters the sounds of India, Lebanon, and Africa, among others; the result has been a hybrid of influences that give rise to a unique style of playing.
