Described as “. . . a cross-cultural collaboration that spins & grooves” by the New York City Jazz Record, Eugene Marlow's Heritage Ensemble is an imaginative and tight quintet that churns out its unique brand of pulsating world music with infectious danceable rhythms in various jazz, Afro-Caribbean and Brazilian styles.

Bandleader Marlow’s delightfully inventive arrangements and lively presence at the keys, combined with the expert musicianship of this Heritage Ensemble bring real variety to the table. The incredibly expressive saxophonist Michael Hashim’s horns can both wail and tenderly caress; five-time Grammy-nominated drummer Bobby Sanabria in tandem with percussionist Matthew Gonzalez add rhythmic drive to the mix; and the powerful yet poignant bassist Frank Wagner rounds out this stellar rhythm section that keeps the band swinging along.
