Circling the Arctic: Guest Conductor, Gemma New [Ass't Conductor of the New Jersey Symphony] presents music depicting landscapes and cultures close to the Arctic Circle. Pianist John Wilson, a finalist in the Carnegie Hall American Protege Competition, performs the ever-popular Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1; Grieg's Holberg Suite features the orchestra strings and Sibelius's beautiful Symphony No.2 concludes the program.

Venue Description: Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Symphony Space offers a wide range of performing arts events ranging for literary and comedic talks to live opera and classical performances. They offer many popular series, including the Thalia Book & Film Clubs, Just Kidding, Selected Shorts, Uptown Showdown, and more.
