Frank Dain returns to the cabaret stage in September with his first solo show in 13 years, in The Magic of Mathis. In four performances at New York City’s Metropolitan Room, Dain will bring fresh interpretations to such Johnny Mathis signature tunes as “Chances Are,” “It’s Not for Me to Say,” “Wild Is the Wind,” “Misty” and “The Twelfth of Never. ” Contributing creative arrangements is Dain's frequent collaborator, Musical Director Kathleen Landis. The Magic of Mathis will also include infrequently sung jewels as “99 Miles from L.A.,” “Yellow Roses on Her Gown,” “I’ll Be Easy to Find” and “Photograph,” all part of Mathis's remarkable 56-year career. Multi-award winning director/entertainer Lennie Watts is directing. Scheduled performances are at 7pm on Saturdays, September 8 and 15, and 7pm Fridays, September 21 and 28.
