In Sibelius's triumphal Fifth Symphony, the swans of Finland rise majestically, heading south over the Baltic Sea as they herald the approach of winter, a season of darkness balancing light. In this reflective program, the superb Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir brings the New York premiere of Arvo Part's In principio, based on the creation story of the Gospel of John. Complementing the mystery of word made flesh (and sound) is Mozart's beloved Ave verum corpus. Part of the 2013 White Light Festival.
