Add to Calendar 26-10-2013 26-10-2013 15 Malek Jandali Live in NYC: The Voice of Free Syrian Children Award-winning composer and pianist Malek Jandali presents original music from his latest album, "Emessa - Homs", which is dedicated to and inspired by the free children of Syria in their noble quest for freedom, justice and human rights. Mr. Jandali has performed his works with leading symphony orchestras around the world such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Cairo Symphony in venues such as the Kennedy Center, the Wiener Konzerthaus, Cadogan Hall, The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. His music has been received with critical acclaim in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Jandali is the first musician to arrange the oldest music notation in the world which was featured in his 2008 album "Echoes from Ugarit". He is the recipient of the 2011 Freedom of Expression award for his song "Watani Ana - I am my Homeland" and was recently recognized in New York City with the Arab-American Achievement Award.
