Pelham Art Center is celebrating all things Scottish on Saturday, October 5, 2013, 2-3:30pm with music by North Sea Gas as part of its Folk Arts Series. Join us for this FREE event to listen to and learn about traditional Scottish folk music. North Sea Gas is currently on a North American tour from Edinburgh, Scotland, "introduc(ing) audiences to the wider world of the folk tradition and its riches" (John O’Regan, Living Tradition Magazine). At the Pelham Art Center event, North Street Gas will share the history and origins of the traditional songs they perform – a part of the oral history of Scotland -- and identify Scottish words and terminology. After the concert, the musicians will be available to speak with anyone curious about Scottish culture, music, history and the instruments used during the performance. About North Sea Gas - One of Scotland’s most popular folk bands with great vocals and tremendous three part harmonies. Guitars, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bouzouki, Whistles, Bodhrans, Banjo and good humor are all part of the entertainment. They have received Gold and Silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association and regularly have sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!!
