“Nativity A Life Story” is a theatrical musical story adapted from Langston Hughes’ script, “Black Nativity”.  “Nativity A Life Story” highlights Mary’s personal life experiences and her love for Joseph as she journeys from Galilee to Nazareth in the promise of the Christ Child, Jesus.  The story is set to stage by dance, music and theatrical interpretation.

This years’ stellar celebrity cast, includes, but is not limited to: from Tyler Perry’s productions of “Why Did I Get Married” and “Madea Gets a Job”, R&B songstress Cheryl Pepsii Riley and Maurice Lauchner; Def Jam’s first female recording artist, Alyson Williams; from “Porgy & Bess” and performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Priscilla Baskerville; Ebony Jo-Ann, from the summer blockbuster, “Grown Ups” and “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”; film and television actor, Harry Burney; Joseph Joubert, Musical Director for Broadway’s “Motown: The Musical”; and Freddie Moore, Choreographer, from Alvin Ailey and Footprints Dance Company.

Venue Description: Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Symphony Space offers a wide range of performing arts events ranging for literary and comedic talks to live opera and classical performances. They offer many popular series, including the Thalia Book & Film Clubs, Just Kidding, Selected Shorts, Uptown Showdown, and more.
