Description: Hailing from Cleveland, OH, the rock outfit Chimaira mixes hardcore, metal, and electronics to create a distinctive sound that has won the band legions of fans. Starting out opening for bands like Soulfly, Spineshank, and Snapcase, the band eventually released its debut full-length album, Pass Out Existence, on the Roadrunner imprint in 2001. Subsequent albums on the label included The Impossibility of Reason (2003) and a 2005 eponymous release. Although internal problems, label changes, and membership shifts created tumult for the band in the ensuing years, the group still managed to release Resurrection in 2007 and The Infection in 2009. Now, after traveling a road fraught with adversity, Chimaira advances its trademarked brand of heavy metal with its latest monster, The Age of Hell (2011). With this album, the eclipse of what you thought you knew about contemporary metal has begun. There is a new definition announced by distorted yet familiar faces. With this album, Chimaira will take you through The Age of Hell. Let's hope you are prepared.
