NYC Queens Summer Activities: Museum of the Moving Image

As the name suggests, MoMI dedicates itself to all things moving image, such as film, television, and digital media. All summer long, you can catch screenings and events of artistry that shaped the world of film like the Changing the Picture series, which celebrates artists of color on the screen throughout history. On July 22, the Jim Henson Exhibition will bring together a display of his work and life. NYC Queens Summer Activities: Flushing Meadows Corona Park 

More than your standard park, Flushing Meadows offers a wide range of activities. You can take pictures in front of the giant globe and do some scenery-gazing. Then, head into the Queens Museum to see some stellar art. If science is more your thing, there’s a museum for that too, the New York Hall of Science. For a more lively activity, there’s even the Queens Zoo, which is bigger than any you’ll find in Manhattan. All of this sound overwhelming? NYC Queens Summer Activities: Citi Field

Citi Field is a baseball stadium in Queens that serves as home to the famous Mets. Nothing says summer like going down to the ballpark to catch a game and eat a hotdog. Not a sports fan? You should still keep an eye on the upcoming events at Citi Field this summer. In the coming months, you’ll be able to catch live music from big names. NYC Queens Summer Activities: Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk

Summertime just isn’t complete without a trip to the beach, and Rockaway has you covered. While here, you can laze around in the sand, take a dip in the lifeguarded waters, play a game of volleyball, or grab a bite to eat. Queens is absolutely worth seeing, but if you still can’t get your mind off of the idea of the famous NYC skylines of Manhattan, Gantry Plaza will give you the opportunity to check that off of your bucket list.
