In his Rolling Stone review (9.9.2014), Dave DiMartino wrote: "This polished product, the work of jazz pianist Billy Childs, spotlights many of Nyro's best songs via Childs' creative orchestrations and the marvelous guest performers…Highly recommended." Billy Childs' latest album, Rebirth(Mack Avenue), marks "a return to the snaking quickfire hard–bop Childs played in the '70s, albeit infused with all the musics he has visited so intelligently since…It's ultra–s... July 13, 2019 - Brooklyn

Soulive has never made any bones about what they do best; it's right there in their name. Since forming in 1999, the trio of guitarist Eric Krasno, drummer Alan Evans and keyboardist Neal Evans has carried the torch for the soul-jazz organ trio—that venerable, funky institution pioneered by the likes of Jimmy Smith, Brother Jack McDuff and Groove Holmes in the late '60s. Rest assured, when the Evans brothers first brought Kraz by their Woodstock studio, there was plenty of old vinyl spread out on the floor. In their 13 years together, Soulive has followed the muse in the direction of hip-hop, R&B, blues and rock, collaborating with the likes of Chaka Khan, Dave Matthews, Talib Kweli, John Scofield, Derek Trucks, Maceo Parker, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, Fred Wesley, The Roots, Ivan Neville and so many others, even going so far as to record a full album of covers by The Beatles (Rubber Soulive). But, no matter how they push the limits of the organ trio, they always come back to their bread and butter: blistering solos and grooves that don't quit.

Lohninger & Fischbacher - Symphony Space
July 13, 2019 - New York

"Elisabeth Lohninger is a powerful performer and a highly-skilled improviser and composer." - New York Times "Lohninger's ear for melody and intellect for smart lyrics have few peers. Add to this a warmly centered alto voice, well captured here, and a complete package of delight emerges. Soul Garden is less a jazz recording than a vocal music recording. Lohninger uses jazz techniques in music of a much wider appeal. This is music for grown-ups dealing with grown-up things: love, the environment, the Beatles." - C. Michael Bailey,All About Jazz "Lohninger shapes an adventurous but accessible session that ideally showcases her voice. Dark and dense as blackberries yet lustrous as pearls, it is a stunning instrument that deserves smart, sympathetic support." - Christopher Loudon, Jazz Times
