Keep your trusty wand handy as you track down a powerful sorceress, a Snape-like potions master, Hagrid-like giants, and cloaked and masked figures as scary as any Death Eater or Dementor. The hunt is not an addition to or variation on Harry’s adventures, but instead references to the books will provide a surprising bridge to many strange and wonderful works of art. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, but all-adult teams can compete separately. Advance purchase is required.

Brooklyn Community Services 2017 ONE BK Unite Walk - Prospect Park

Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) is inviting individuals and teams to join the 2017 ONE BK Unite walk on Sunday, September 17 in Prospect Park for a fun fitness fundraising walk-a-thon to help BCS uplift Brooklynites living in poverty. The ONE BK Unite walk starts at the Grand Army Plaza Entrance to Prospect Park. Registration is at 11:00am and the walk begins at 12:00noon. Scott "BurnHard" Bernard, the 2017 ONE BK Unite Fitness Ambassador, is a celebrity trainer and holistic coach will hold warm-up callisthenic sessions to kick off the walk. ONE BK Unite participants will walk one mile or walk the whole park in 3.5 miles. This community event is packed with prizes for top fundraisers. There will be face painting for children and a competition for dog walkers. Each participant will receive a gift bag. The funds raised sustain the BCS programs and services that 18,000 Brooklynites living in poor and low income neighborhoods utilize each year. Never Built New York Buildings of the Future/ Edificios del futuro - Queens Museum

Spend Sunday afternoons at the Queens Museum and enjoy art making, dance, music and storytelling. All Family art making workshops are drop-in, except where stated. No fee or advance registration required. Just show up and stay for as long as you like. Storytelling sessions run for 15mins and begin at the top of every hour, at 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. Get inspired by Queens Museum exhibition, Never Built New York, an exhibition about fantastic buildings that were never built in New York. Then use your inspiration to create your own building of the future. Ages 4 and up. These tales are all about skyscrapers and other tall buildings. Spanish and English. Ages 2 and up.

From her tough-to-take, boundary-busting performance-video work that explored the complex psychic narrative behind often visceral solo performances, to more recent experimental films and lecture-performances, Chang has challenged the parameters of performance and its power as a storytelling vehicle. The Queens Museum will present her most ambitious work to date, The Wandering Lake (2009-2017), a project that redefines the role of artist, image, object and performance in the construction of narratives through an exhibition that integrates video projection, photography, sculpture, publication, and performance as one expansive body of work.

Just bring the ticket to the Museum before or after your sail!
