The summer demand for the chic menswear-driven pantsuit continues to move into fall and beyond. Comfortable and easy to wear, the pantsuit always looks sharp, and reflects some truly great tailoring that flatters the silhouette. With so much chatter about China dominating the headlines, it’s no surprise that Eastern influences have appeared in the fashion category as well. Think lots of bold red, crimson, and gold, as well as Asian motifs like  dragons and decadent embroidery. Fall/Winter 2015’s must-haves include opulent, textured fabrics inspired by the interior design industry. Expect Moroccan-style motifs and luxe brocades. Tory Burch unveiled this look along with the Erdem label for fall and winter, and you can find it at Saks Fifth Avenue (611 Fifth Ave.) in midtown. You can also go straight to the source at Tory Burch’s new boutique at the Brookfield Place mall in the Financial District.

Simple slip dresses dominate Fall/Winter 2015 fashion. Ideal for making a statement, these easy, sexy pieces can be dressed up or down. Celine paraded the look down its runways, as did Rag & Bone, which presented a downtown look with slip dresses layered over pants. Those seeking Celine can find her designer threads at her own stores—one is located downtown at 67 Wooster St. and another uptown at 870 Madison Ave. Rag & Bone can be found at one of its own namesake downtown shops, located at 119 Mercer St., 73 E. Houston St., or 104 Christopher St.

Simplicity also steals the spotlight in the form of crisp white blouses. From soaring Victorian-style collars, to the ultra-feminine ruffle sleeves at Michael Kors, to the classic designer shirts at Anne Fontaine, the white blouse is a must-have that offers lots of versatility. Pair it with designer jeans and some fab boots for a timeless look that can go anywhere. Find Michael Kors downtown at 384 Bleecker St. and 101 Prince St., and also in midtown at Rockefeller Center, 610 Fifth Ave. Anne Fontaine also keeps a Rockefeller Center outpost at 610 Fifth Ave., and on the Upper East Side at 837 Madison Ave.

Evolving from fringe this fall is the “car wash” skirt. Fun, flirty, and sexy, it’s a more sophisticated alternative to the fringe of seasons past. Christian Dior presented a casual take on the trend and Oscar de la Renta showed a sexy, black cocktail look for after dark. For Christian Dior’s luxe looks, head to 21 E. 57th St. in midtown east, or 133 Greene St. in Soho. Oscar de la Renta is midtown at 11 W. 42nd St. and 772 Madison Ave. uptown.

As fall moves into winter, more warmth will be needed—but who wants to sacrifice style? This season all types of puffer jackets will be debuting in innovative cuts and a kaleidoscope of bold colors. Fendi and Chanel both showed variations of the puffer trend. Fendi fans can find the brand at 598 Madison Ave. in midtown east; Chanel is located in Soho at 139 Spring St., uptown at 737 Madison Ave., and midtown at 15 E. 57th St.

Fashionistas on a budget should certainly explore the trend-driven offerings at other chain stores and boutiques around Manhattan. Downtown gals seeking trendy pieces that won’t break the bank can visit H&M, 558 Broadway. Contemporary clothing and accessories can also be found at Zara, 580 Broadway. Both brands have lots of locations throughout Manhattan. In the midtown area, there’s Taroo—a chic boutique with all the latest trends, 470 Third Ave. For uptown looks at more downtown prices, fashionistas can head to Massimo Dutti, 689 Fifth Ave. For a mix of great looks and equally great prices, plus an iconic New York shopping experience, Century 21 should not be missed. City locations include one downtown in the Financial District at 22 Cortlandt St., and one on the Upper West Side at 1972 Broadway.
