Smorgasburg, the celebrated open-air food fair presented by Brooklyn Flea in partnership with Prospect Park Alliance, returns to Prospect Park this spring! On Sundays from April through October, over 100 local and regional food purveyors will gather on Breeze Hill to offer a range of cuisines.

Inaugural Downtown Brooklyn Arts Festival Brooklyn Institutions Unite for Weekend of Activity - The Plaza 300 Ashland

The festival will focus on discovery of the district’s renowned arts institutions, featuring Theater of War Productions, a dance party DJed by Soul Summit, live music and salsa with Los Hacheros, and other activities and performances from local cultural organizations.

Monday Volunteer Corps: Eastside Revival - Prospect Park Alliance

Join Prospect Park Alliance to help beautify two of the Park's most elegant locations: the Vale of Cashmere and the Rose Garden. Tasks may include raking, sweeping, path edging, and litter removal. The Emperor - Theatre for a New Audience at Polonsky Shakespeare Center

In 2016, the Young Vic, HOME & Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg co-produced the world premiere of The Emperor, Colin Teevan's theatrical adaptation of Ryszard Kapu?ci?ski's celebrated and controversial 1978 book of the same title about the downfall of Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie. Directed by Walter Meierjohann, The Emperor starred the magnificent shapeshifting Kathryn Hunter. Kathryn Hunter, Colin Teevan and Walter Meierjohan were the team for the acclaimed Young Vic production of Kafka's Monkey which played at TFANA in 2013. In The Emperor, they are joined by Ethiopian musician Temesgen Zeleke, who accompanies Kathryn Hunter live on stage. Kicking off its new season, TFANA presents the American premiere of The Emperor. Hunter, who has also played at TFANA in The Valley of Astonishment directed by Peter Brook and Marie-Helene Estienne and as a memorable Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Julie Taymor, is a unique artist. She transforms to create the physical shapes and inner hearts of characters she plays – female, male, animal or spirit. The Emperor explores political power. Yang Yuanyuan (b. 1989, Beijing) lives and works in Beijing. She received a BA (hons) in photography at London College of Communications, University of the Arts London in 2013. By experimenting with different ways of visual storytelling, Yang creates narratives where facts and fiction coexist and speak about topics such as memory and history. Yang's work has been exhibited and published internationally. Her solo exhibitions include: "At the Place of Crossed Sights"(C-Space, Beijing, 2016) and "In-between Places" (Being 3 Gallery, Beijing, 2012). She participated Anren Biennale (2017) and Guangzhou Image Triennial (2017). Her works have been the subject of exhibitions at Guangzhou Times Museum, Guangzhou (2017); Yang Art Museum, Beijing (2017); Fotogalerie Wien, Vienna (2016)?Benaki Museum, Athens (2015); Objectifs, Singapore (2015); Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo (EAC), Montevideo (2015) and Three Shadows Photography Art Center, Beijing (2012).

Halloween Harvest - Luna Park
