On Sunday, June 10, Domino Park – New York’s newest public park on the waterfront in South Williamsburg – will open to the public with a free grand opening celebration. The grand opening event, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., will gather Brooklyn’s top food, music, and cultural institutions, showcasing the area’s diversity and creative spirit. Grand opening celebration highlights include: • A free Sky Ting waterfront yoga class at 12:00 p.m. • Food from Danny Meyer’s newest creation Tacocina (a permanent addition to the park) • Food from Fornino, Mekelburg's, Yankee Doodle, and ice cream from Van Leeuwen • National Sawdust live acoustic performances at 2:00 p.m. • Pop Action acrobatic workshops with STREB • Read aloud and arts and craft activities with McNally Jackson

Seven Deadly Sonnets and Other Stories: A Poetry Reading with Pádraig Ó Tuama - St. Paul’s Chapel

Irish poet Pádraig Ó Tuama went through exorcisms and reparative therapies in his 20s for being gay. Now the leader of the Corrymeela Community, Ireland’s oldest peace and reconciliation organization, Ó Tuama has worked in Ireland, the UK, Australia, Uganda, and the United States addressing homophobia and so-called “cure therapies.” During this special poetry event, Ó Tuama will share poems and stories about the impact of such measures on LGBTQ identities. Sharing defiant sonnets and lyric poetry, this event will be both poetry and protest. Doors open at 6:30pm. Program begins at 7pm, followed by a reception and book signing. Copies of Ó Tuama’s In the Shelter will be available for purchase. Proceeds from ticket and books sales will benefit Trinity Place, a shelter for LGBTQ youth experiencing homelessness. Celebrate Pride at the Whitney - Whitney Museum of American Art

CELEBRATE PRIDE AT THE WHITNEY WITH SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY NIC KAY FRIDAY, JUNE 15 Pride at the Whitney, a celebration of Pride and the LGBTQ community featuring a special performance by artist NIC Kay, will take place on Friday, June 15th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Whitney Museum of American Art, located at 99 Gansevoort Street (between Washington Street and West Street), Manhattan. NIC Kay will present about love, a performance that considers RuPaul’s well-known question that asks how people can love others if they don’t love themselves. about love is part of a larger series of performances that examine wellness and hope.
