9th Annual Italian Feast & Carnival - Masonic Park

This festive celebration of all things Italian, which is hosted by the Blauvelt Sons of Italy, features plenty of Italian food and live entertainment, as well as midway rides for all ages, carnival games, a nightly casino, favorite fair food and dozens of merchandise vendors. There's something for every appetite, including brick-oven pizza made on site, pasta, meatballs, sausage and peppers, seafood specialties, barbecue, zeppole, cannoli, gelato, Italian ices, wine and beer. Entertainment includes world-renowned tenor Alfio, Italian opera singer Anna Veleva, Italian tenor Anthony Tolve, country music artist Lauren Mascitti and Sinatra standards singer Steven Maglio. Festival admission is $5 and free for children under 12. There is no charge for parking. Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller) are $25 on Thursday and $30 on Sunday. Ride tickets are $1.50 each, $25 for 20 tickets, or $50 for 50 tickets plus 1 free ride. Rides take 2 or more tickets each. IGDA NYC Coffee & Ice Cream Social - Ample Hills Creamery

There are plenty of game industry networking events, bar mixers, and drink nights out there, but we wanted to do something a little different—so instead, we started up the IGDA NYC Coffee and Ice Cream Socials. Held the third Monday of every month at an ice cream parlor rather than a bar, our socials are alcohol-free, family-friendly, and open to all ages. We'll be at Ample Hills Creamery in Gowanus, Brooklyn, with an upstairs roof deck and indoors lounge. The menu includes a great selection of whimsical, handcrafted flavors, including dairy-free vegan options, plus hot chocolate and coffee drinks. Come grab a cone or a cuppa and hang out with fellow game devs!

The Feast is New York City's largest and longest running festivals and attracts more than one-million people from around the world each year, to take part in the religious processions, colorful parades, free musical entertainment, and a wide variety of authentic Italian cuisine. The first Feast in New York City took place on September 19, 1926 when newly arrived immigrants from Naples settled in what is now Little Italy in New York City, and decided to continue the tradition they had followed in Italy to celebrate the day in 305 A.D. when Saint Gennaro was martyred for the faith. Since then, the Feast has grown from a one-day street festival to a gala 11-day event.

New York Denim Days - Metropolitan Pavilion

The second-annual New York Denim Days Festival will take place on September 22 & 23rd. This indigo-soaked two-day shopping event at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea will include interactive displays, indigo dyeing workshops, new denim designers as well as established brands, and denim mills alongside in-store events, a vintage denim market, parties and DJ’s– all geared to give consumers access to their denim heroes and heritage brands. A one-day street bazaar will take place outside the Metropolitan Pavilion on September 23 and will include food, live entertainment, games, art, selfie stations, and more! This festival is for denim heads, fashionistas, foodies, families, tourists, teens, tweens, and of course, all New Yorkers who are true-blue denim lovers.
