Our ensembles have been official selections of some of the biggest sketch festivals around the country, but you can catch them right here on our stage every single week.

Everyone Is Sad: A Stand-Up Show - Magnet Theater
March 21, 2019 - New York

"Everyone Is Sad" is a stand-up show for comedic performers who are relatively new to stand-up. These performers may appear happy doing improv, sketch, and musical improv--but they are all very tormented and sad and want to stand alone on stage. The host, Perri Gross, has been sad for over 6 years doing stand-up and improv in various stages and basements in NYC. She is a writer for Reductress, The Higgs Weldon, and is also a performer at the Magnet Theater. She has cried on every street corner in Manhattan.

The Friday Night Sh*W - Magnet Theater
March 22, 2019 - New York

Obnoxious strangers, overbearing bosses and unrequited high school crushes are about to get a piece of your mind… The Friday Night Sh*w invites audience members to offer their repressed rants, cursing-outs and sultry confessions to fuel a fast-paced brawl of hilarity, performed by a fistful of of NYC's best improvisers and Magnet faculty. Before the show, audience members may anonymously submit written confessions which the improvisers will use onstage. Now, doesn't it feel good to get that off your chest?

Premiere: The Improvised Musical - Magnet Theater
March 22, 2019 - New York

Welcome to Premiere: The Improvised Musical, featuring NYC's top comedy performers and instructors! Each week the cast takes a suggestion from the audience and turns it into a fully crafted musical -- each character, song and dance number is entirely made up! Led by legendary Magnet Musical Director Frank Spitznagel, and with a cast whose professional credits include Second City, Baby Wants Candy, HBO and Comedy Central, Premiere is THE top musical improv show in New York -- Fridays at 10pm, ONLY at Magnet Theater!

The legendary show is reborn! Created in 1995 at the iO Theater in Chicago, The Armando Diaz Experience IS the longest running improv show EVER. A guest monologist takes a suggestion from the audience and shares true stories from their life. These stories are then brought to life by a rotating cast of improv all-stars, which take audiences on a high minded, exhilarating comedic joy ride that will leave mouths tired of smiling. And occasionally, just occasionally, the man with his name on the show will drop by for some fun.
