Jon Mueller - Union Pool
June 16, 2019 - Brooklyn

His recordings have been released by record labels such as Table of the Elements, Polyvinyl Records, Type Recordings, Jagjaguwar, Hometapes, Important Records, and many others. Over the past 25 years, Mueller has become increasingly focused on recognizing the dialog between sound and the situation it's presented in, often bypassing standard approaches to percussion and considering acoustics and concepts surrounding the work in order to create a larger experience for those listening. The experience of sound, both on it's own and in performance, can be intense, personal, and physically effective.

Tanbark *Record Release! - Union Pool
June 18, 2019 - Brooklyn

Tanbark began in 2011 as a long-distance songwriting collaboration between Chloe Nelson, who was studying art history in London, and James Jannicelli, a musician in Minneapolis. By 2012, they were both in the Twin Cities, where their country and folk-inspired songwriting and close vocal harmonies began to form the basis of their sound. In 2014, Tanbark headed to Los Angeles to team up in the studio with Trevor Welch. Their resulting debut, "Write Soon," brings together the bareness of the duo's acoustic folk sound with a fuller, pedal-steel-and-Telecaster country sound.

Tierra Del Fuego - Union Pool
June 19, 2019 - Brooklyn

21 and over Tierra del Fuego was born in the midst of a hot New York City summer, 2017. Travels and trips all came together in the form of songs, so it was that Elizabeth Hart (Psychic Ills) and Argentinean producer Iván Diaz Mathé (Nairobi) started collaborating. Recordings and shows have been giving shape to the story of the band, creating a true blend of cultures and styles. Devon Church - one half of the critically acclaimed duo, Exitmusic - makes lyric driven electro-psyche-folk with guitars, synths and a torn up baritone. Kyle Avallone makes dark and moody music. He's a minimalist, a noir crooner, soaked in 70's night club sleaze. His songs invite you into a world of red lights, empty streets, and desire.

Tainted Love 80's Dance Party - The Bell House
June 21, 2019 - Brooklyn

This event is 21 and over Soft Cell's pioneering 1981 cover of the Northern Soul classic, "Tainted Love," is the inspiration for this awesome 80s dance party. Building on a solid foundation of New Wave, we'll dig deeper into the catalog of massive hits and overlooked misses from the late 70s through the early 90s - pivotal years in musical history that blurred the lines between Analog and Digital, Disco and Synthpop, Funk and Hip-Hop. A time when Alternative was called Post-Punk, Indie actually meant independent, and Throbbing Gristle's "Hot on the Heels of Love" surely could have been alongside Blondie's "Heart of Glass" on the charts...with today's perspective. Other passions include CBGB-era New York, Batcave-era London - Punk Rock, Glam Rock, Kraut Rock, Girl Rock, Dad Rock, Rockabilly, Ska, Machine Soul, Blue-Eyed Soul, Darkwave, Coldwave - plus some guilty pleasures in the (strictly) Old-School Rap department.

Bambi Kino - Union Pool
June 22, 2019 - Brooklyn

Bambi Kino — guitarist Mark Rozzo (Maplewood, Champale), bassist Erik Paparazzi (ex Cat Power), guitarist Doug Gillard (ex Guided by Voices, Nada Surf), and drummer Ira Elliot (Nada Surf) — is named after the movie theatre that was the Beatles' first home in Hamburg's notorious Reeperbahn district. Their repertoire is culled from the Beatles' 1960-1962 set lists, based on recordings (in many cases bootlegs) as well as archival research, allowing the band to perform songs the early Beatles were known to have played but never recorded. It's not exactly a tribute: There's no role-playing or wigs or leather trousers. But each Bambi Kino show — typically three or four sets long, consisting of upwards of 80 songs a night, with an array of special guests and even the occasional burlesque performer — is an homage to what the Beatles made possible for all musicians everywhere.

Summer Thunder - Union Pool
June 23, 2019 - Brooklyn

21 and over Indiana native Haley Fohr began her experimental indie folk project Circuit des Yeux in 2007, writing and self-recording disturbing, nightmare-like atonal pieces caked in distortion and tape hiss. Her debut LP, Symphone, was released in a limited edition by De Stijl in 2008, followed in 2009 by the more widely available Sirenum on the same label, as well as a 7" single on Dull Knife Records. 2010 saw the release of Ode to Fidelity, a three-song 7" EP on De Stijl which signaled Fohr's shift to more song-based material, letting her deep, haunting vocals and unsettling lyrics rise to the forefront. Third album Portrait arrived on De Stijl in 2011, sporting a much clearer recording quality, as well as a dirge-like deconstruction of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" recorded live. Fohr graduated college in 2012, and moved from Bloomington, Indiana to Chicago, where she began collaborating and performing with several artists in the city's vast music communities.
