Whether you're more into a rock scene or music that's an eclectic mix, check out places like Brooklyn Steel, Barbes, and the Pine Box Rock Shop all around Brooklyn.

On March 10th, join Lady Parts Justice League for a day of celebrating abortion providers (and Jerry Orbach & Patrick Swayze tbh) and FIGHTING BACK against the anti-choice a-holes trying to take away our basic human rights at a special sing along/shout along screening of Dirty Dancing, the best Patrick Swayze movie featuring an abortion ever made, In addition to getting our Swayze on, we're setting up a station where we'll be calling our elected officials so they're REAL CLEAR on what later abortion actually is and isn't, and breaking the record for most #ThankBank postcards ever written to clinics at one time! March 10th is National Abortion Provider Appreciation Day, and holy crap do clinics need some love right now. Not only are lies about later abortion spewing from the mouth of the President (and from media outlets that SHOULD KNOW BETTER), but Roe v. Wade hangs in the balance and more and more unconstitutional (for now) abortion bills are being passed in statehouses every damn day. On top of all of that, March 6th marks the beginning of the awful "40 Days for Life," which means anti-choice extremists get bussed to clinics around the country to scream at patients for FORTY D... The perennially influential and innovative vocalist/composer Joan La Barbara presents new material from her ongoing opera-in-progress, Dreams of Water Beyond One's Depth, inspired by the lives and work of the iconic Virginia Woolf and enigmatic Joseph Cornell, with lyrics by the brilliant, award-winning Vietnamese-American novelist Monique Truong, and featuring an ensemble of voices, instruments, synthesizer and sonic atmosphere. Tom Chiu's Ensemble Metrix is a mixed-instrumentation group dedicated to recontexualizing adventurous music in diverse styles and genres. Representing Chiu's vision of a performative party band, Ensemble Metrix replaces DJs and turntables with live musicians who weave long-form sonic canvases by distorting and layering melodic fragments and motivic riffs from the broad canon of popular and underground music.

Teenage Fanclub are a Scottish alternative rock band formed in Bellshill in 1989.[1] The band was founded by Norman Blake (vocals, guitar), Raymond McGinley (vocals, lead guitar) and Gerard Love (vocals, bass), all of whom share lead vocals and songwriting duties. The band's current lineup consists of Blake, McGinley, Love, Francis MacDonald (drums) and Dave McGowan (keyboards). In concert, the band usually alternate among its songwriters, giving equal playing time to each one's songs. Although often pegged as alternative rock, the group have incorporated a wide variety of elements from various music styles in their songs.[1]
