If you're looking for a unique cooking class or just something fun to do on the water in NYC, take note. The Urban Kitchen is coming aboard Spirit Cruises this summer to share old-world secrets for making mozzarella and other homemade cheeses from scratch. Chef Danny Altilio, formerly featured on Cake Boss, will lead a class in preparing scamorza, mozzarella, ricotta, prima sala and a mozzarella/soppressata roll. That's right, you can make cheese...on a boat.
The classes will be given on July 23 and Aug. 20. The session includes dinner and a raffle to win cooking classes from The Urban Kitchen! Boarding time is 6:30pm, cruising from 7pm-9:30pm. Prices begin at $65.90 per person.
A small price to pay for maritime cheese-making bragging rights.
