There are 16 NYC museums participating in this year's Museum Day on September 22. The national event is sponsored by The SmithsonianMagazine. Go online to sign up a free pair of tickets to institutions that include New York City favorites like the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, the Museum of Arts and Design, and Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
This year's Museum Day theme is Women Making History, honoring trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation, and culture.
Participants are allowed to download one pair of free tickets per email address (it's a pass with a plus 1). If you don't have a printer and the museum requires a printed ticket, you can also print it out at your local library. The complete list of participating New York museums is:
