NEW YORK CITY TO CELEBRATE

THE 2011 WORLD POLICE & FIRE GAMES
Gala Benefit Set for Honoring Sports Superstars

Former New York Giants Defensive End Captain, George Martin, and recently retired New York Rangers superstar defenseman, Brian Leetch, are amongst the honorees at this year’s 2011 World Police & Fire Games (WPFG) Third Annual Benefit Gala to be held on Wednesday, February 27th, at the New York Marriott Marquis Times Square.

The World Police & Fire Games are the 2nd largest Olympic-style event in the world; taking place every two years, and showcasing the athletic prowess of 18,000 police officers and firefighters from over 70 countries worldwide. Over 65 traditional Olympic sporting events in both women’s and men’s divisions will be featured at 40 venues throughout New York City. In 2011, the Games will respectfully coincide with the 10 year memorial of September 11th, and will integrate the two themes of Remembrance for those lost in the tragedy and Gratitude for those who offered support.

The Gala program is set to include both silent and live auctions with proceeds to benefit the funding of the 2011 Games. John Flaherty, YES Network announcer and former New York Yankees catcher, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Gala. Gold, silver and bronze medal sponsorship packages are available at various levels and range from $5,000 to $15,000. Individual tickets with preferred seating are available for $750, and general seating is available for a $500 ticket purchase.
