Juliana Hatfield - Monty Hall
June 28, 2019 - Jersey City

Fast on the heels of April 2018’s acclaimed “Juliana Hatfield Sings Olivia Newton-John” comes Juliana Hatfield’s new self-produced all-originals album “Weird”. Freda Love Smith (Blake Babies, Sunshine Boys) and Todd Philips (Lemonheads, The Juliana Hatfield Three) each played drums on multiple songs while Hatfield played all of the other instruments (and some additional drums). “Weird” is an album about disconnection and discomfort. “I often feel cut-off from other people, from my feelings, from technology, from popular culture,” says Hatfield. “I feel weird, I feel like I’m dreaming my life and that I am going to wake up some day.” While Hatfield’s songs—melodies and lyrics and structures– are meticulously crafted, her guitar parts are loose and sometimes a little unhinged, first-take expressions of this temperamental uneasiness. “Personally, I feel like a malfunctioning machine. There’s a screw or two loose. I want my guitar playing to reflect that.”

Michael Mcdonald + Chaka Khana - NYCB Theatre at Westbury
June 28, 2019 - Westbury

Two notes. That's all it takes to recognize the voice of Michael McDonald. Distinctive and soulful, it is one of the most yearningly emotive instruments of our times. From '70s-era Doobie Brothers classics such as "What A Fool Believes" and solo hits like "I Keep Forgettin'" through two highly-acclaimed Motown albums, genre-busting guest spots and innovative concept shows, the five-time Grammy Award winning McDonald is both timeless and ever-evolving.

D.R.I., Fastplants, King Rat The DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES' history begins on May 2, 1982 around 4:00pm, in the city of Houston, TX. It was on this day that the musically aggressive quartet we now know as D.R.I. made their first Dirty Rotten noise and called it a song. Everyone in your party must have purchased tickets in advance.Drive-By Truckers have always been outspoken, telling a distinctly American story via craft, character, and concept, all backed by sonic ambition and social conscience. Founded in 1996 by singer/songwriter/guitarists Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood, the band have long held a progressive fire in their belly but with AMERICAN BAND, they have made the most explicitly political album in their extraordinary canon. A powerful and legitimately provocative work, hard edged and finely honed, the album is the sound of a truly American Band – a Southern American band – speaking on matters that matter. DBT made the choice to direct the Way We Live Now head on, employing realism rather than subtext or symbolism to purge its mak... (read more)

Phish - Party Bus to Camden! - Rocks Off
June 30, 2019 - New York

Y'know what's gonna be awesome? Phish playing at the BB&T Pavillion in Camden New Jersey, just a couple hours from the city! Y'know what's not gonna be awesome? Getting your carless New Yorker ass to Camden for the shows. That's where Rocks Off comes in! We are running an air-conditioned, bathroom-equipped, sound system & TV screen-rockin party bus from NYC to and from the shows, so you don't need to worry about finding a ride, staying sober, dealing with the scumbags on public transportation (or the crowded-ass, un-airconditioned, non-bathroom equipped or sound system & flatscreen-rockin shuttle buses back to the NJT station after the show), or even learning where the hell "Camden, New Jersey" actually is (once we're outside of the five boroughs, we can't tell a Holmdel from an Albuquerque from an Osh Kosh, but thankfully we've got professional drivers who can). Really, all you've gotta do is buy a ticket, show up, stumble into and out of the venue, and we'll take care of the rest - don't that sound like it's worth a little money spent on your peace of mind? (And - we can't stress this part enough - not having to draw straws to see which one of your friends has to stay sober at a... (read more)

Lithics - Union Pool
June 30, 2019 - Brooklyn

21 and over Lithics is a four person minimalist punk band from Portland, Oregon formed in late 2014. Over the last year and a half they have refined a sound focusing on interlocked bass and drum rhythms paired with shrill guitar counterpoint and stark female vocals. While counting Wire, The Fall, Devo, Pylon, The Shadow Ring, and Captain Beefheart's Magic Band as reference points, the band's concerns are contemporary and urgent. An injection of uptight, nervous energy into the reverb drenched complacency of today's musical underground.

Albert Lee Band - Sportsmen's Tavern
June 30, 2019 - Buffalo

Guitar legend ALBERT LEE first came to prominence during a 1964-68 stint in British Blues and R & B stalwarts Chris Farlowe's Thunderbirds. After working in the UK bands for touring country acts such as Bobby Bare and Skeeter Davis, Lee's next full-time berth was two years with the UK answer to the Flying Burrito Brothers and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band-Head , Hands, and Feet. His reputation grew and session work blossomed, including appearances on "The London Bo Diddley Sessions" for Chess and Jerry Lee Lewis' "The London Sessions". This and other work with U.S. based greats led to a permanent position in the Crickets, and by the time that ended Albert had long since made Southern California his home. There he became friendly with Don Everly, who had also settled in Southern California; they played regularly on a formal and informal basis, with Albert contributing to Don's 1974 solo effort "Sunset Towers". The move to California also led to work on sessions for the debut album of Jackson Browne.
